Recovery isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about finding your way back to yourself.
Hi, I’m Maxwell. Join me in exploring my mental health journey, growing through therapy, and nurturing my healing through personal stories, poetry, and real-life experiences.

I’m Maxwell, and if there’s one thing my life has taught me, it’s that healing is possible. I live with OCD, Anxiety, and Borderline Personality Disorder, diagnoses that have challenged me, humbled me, and ultimately pushed me toward growth. Through years of therapy, including ERP, CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR, I’ve learned that recovery isn’t a straight line; it’s a collection of small, often uncomfortable steps that slowly change everything. This blog is where I share that journey from my perspective, not as a therapist or expert, but as someone who’s lived it. You’ll find stories about mental health, reflections on what therapy has taught me, and poems that help me make sense of the world around me. Sometimes they’re hopeful, sometimes messy, sometimes unresolved. Just like life. Outside of writing, I work full-time and run a professional photography business on the side, where I’ve learned that people don’t need to be perfect to be worthy of being seen. If you’re here looking for understanding, encouragement, or simply proof that change is possible, I hope you find a piece of that in these words.
